Pro Bono Prelude
24 January 2025

The Pro Bono Prelude was a flagship event of the LSE Law Society Pro Bono Division in the academic year 2024/25. The evening was dedicated to celebrating and supporting pro bono work by fundraising for two highly respected legal charities , LawWorks and Advocate. Through an inspiring blend of live music, community engagement, and charitable purpose, the event not only fostered a spirit of collaboration but also successfully exceeded its target fundraising goal of £500.

LawWorks and Advocate are key players in the legal charity sector, both committed to ensuring that access to justice is not a privilege, but a right. These organisations focus on providing free legal advice, representation, and resources to individuals who are unable to afford legal assistance. From navigating complex legal systems to protecting basic rights, they support people facing issues such as housing insecurity, employment disputes, immigration challenges, and domestic abuse. By raising awareness and vital funds, the Pro Bono Prelude played a crucial role in sustaining the efforts of these charities and reinforcing the importance of legal empowerment for vulnerable communities.
